GENERAL STATEMENT ON CONTENT
This work contains discussions and depictions of graphic violence, abuse, sexual themes, and prejudices that will not always be challenged or condemned in the moment by the characters. Individual chapters will have specific warnings when needed. Chapters that need more specific warnings are listed here and have a written summary for readers who may not be comfortable with certain story beats but want to continue reading.
WHAT THIS IS
This is an AU (Alternate Universe) ship fic. You do not need to have read the original Watchmen, the 2012 prequel comics, or watched either the 2009 movie or 2024 animated Chapter 1/Chapter 2 movies to understand the main story. This pulls nothing from the 2017-2019 sequel comics or the HBO spin-off show. The in-universe story rules are explained within the comic.

PERSONAL NOTE
A note about myself and how I’m approaching this. One, I am aware that my art is poor quality and my writing isn't particularly impressive. I’m only saying this here because to me, posting art online has always felt like people showing off their best work and highlight reels, and I’m aware this isn't that. I can see my issues and weak spots, and I apologize. Since this will take years to complete, I expect my quality to improve, so I guess just trust me bro lol.
Two, keeping it vague for privacy, but I am disabled and am prone to losing days of work to illness. I will try to update every few days, but truthfully, sometimes time is a black hole I lose to pain and sleep. It’s been the most frustrating thing I’ve experienced so far making this honest to god.
Third, why this? I have no idea. There are better uses of my time than doing gay fanfiction of an extremely famous comic that doesn't need my input, but again, here we are. This is silly; I try to bring how silly I find all this to the work. I do have something to say about the original, but don’t take this as a fix-it fic. I’m just kind of saying shit.
